At Genospace, our mission is to deliver the platform that makes biomedical data useful and usable by everyone.

Working from our headquarters in Boston, MA, our interdisciplinary team is merging the tools and techniques of genomics, analytics, and cloud computing. We serve research, clinical development, pathology and clinical care customers who work with high-dimensional genomic and other biomedical data. Many of the most advanced precision medicine organizations are powered by Genospace.

Genospace is looking for talented team players who enjoy a challenge and want to help us deliver our platform. As the leading provider of information technology services in molecular medicine, our software is used today by clinicians and researchers across the country and around the globe to improve patient care.

What You’ll Do:

Genospace is looking for a Product Owner who can understand and advocate for the needs of our users and coordinate the fulfillment of those needs through effective communication between stakeholders, software development teams, and User Experience (UX) researchers.

As a Product Owner, you will bring strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills to our organization. In this role you will represent the voice of the user, working closely with product leadership, UX, and engineering teams to help define and execute the product vision. This will require you to deeply understand the problems of some of the most innovative healthcare providers and life sciences companies, and create products that will impact patients at the most critical juncture of their lives.

As a Product Owner you will:
  • Act as a stakeholder for the product and represent the “voice of the customer” internally
  • Participate in the development of business use cases, user personas, and needs assessment studies to elicit product requirements and inform product design and development
  • Translate product requirements into agile user stories and guide prioritization of the product backlog
  • Define user acceptance criteria to facilitate validation of implemented solutions
  • Participate in sprint ceremonies within the agile development framework, including grooming of the product backlog, daily stand-ups, and sprint retrospectives
  • Collaborate with product leaders, UX, and development teams to organize tasks within a project, coordinate product schedules and delivery timelines, and bring features to successful release
  • Receive hands-on experience maintaining 21 CFR Part 11 validation standards
  • Build subject matter expertise around the product line and relevant industry trends
  • Develop strong relationships and communication with all teams involved in executing a project, including internal stakeholders and users of the product
  • Iterate on product releases through analyzing user metrics (quantitative) and feedback (qualitative) to bring forward new feature ideas
What We’re Looking For:
  • Cursory knowledge of the industry landscape and biomedical domain, with an emphasis on tools, technologies, and data resources to support this user population
  • A strong willingness to learn demonstrated through asking questions, seeking out guidance, and building communication skills with teammates
  • Working knowledge of the software development process, with an emphasis on agile development methodologies, and various tools used to support this process (e.g. Jira, Google Analytics)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in all aspects of the job, including meeting facilitation, presentations, and product demonstrations
  • An ability to influence multiple stakeholders without direct authority
Education & Background:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 1-3 years of product management or business analytics experience (or equivalent) is preferred, such as creating strategic product roadmaps and working with cross-functional teams
  • Prior experience in life sciences or healthcare is preferred, but ample curiosity and a willingness to learn are a must

At Genospace, our platform is designed to make biomedical data meaningful and accessible to everyone, especially those on the front lines of care delivery; join us in our mission of leveraging high-dimensional molecular data to improve individual patient outcomes and accelerate drug development and research.

We offer a benefits package that will best suit your family’s needs. You also have the option to enroll in additional perks such as our matching 401k, medical and childcare flex spending accounts, life insurance, and tuition reimbursement.

Be a part of an organization that invests in you. We are actively reviewing applications. Highly qualified candidates will be promptly contacted by our recruiter or hiring manager for interviews. Submit your application and help us raise the bar in patient care!
