Human Resources Manager

PatientKeeper is looking for a seasoned HR Manager who will provide strategic HR, talent, and day-to-day HR support across the HR spectrum to leaders and employees within the three Boston Software Technology Businesses.  This is a unique opportunity for an ideal candidate who will bring software technology HR expertise to three separate, wholly owned technology companies of parent corporation, HCA Healthcare.   


This role will be key to creating the desired workplace culture and an engaged and productive workforce through working with local and parent company policies, programs and practices.  We are seeking a hands-on experienced HR professional well versed as a generalist and capable of providing input and strategic direction across the HR spectrum and to all levels of leadership.  This includes but is not limited to communications and implementation across a broad range of HR programs such as HRIS (Lawson) systems, immigration, change management, compensation, benefits, recruitment, employee relations, and training & development. The HR Manager will serve as an ambassador for the company interacting with candidates, hiring managers, employees, vendors and will work closely with their Nashville, TN Human Resources counterparts.


The ideal candidate will have HR experience of increasing responsibility in a software technology company and a desire to elevate their career within HR.  This position requires strong communication, organization, and people skills.

Core Responsibilities

  • Implement HR strategy and programs relevant to software technology
    • Engage designated managers and leaders to understand talent needs of the business and help define people strategies
    • Implement company-wide and location-specific HR initiatives
  • Advise managers and leaders on people issues
    • Provide HR input, observations and guidance related to people issues
    • Interpret talent management data for departments and work with VP of HR and departmental leaders to develop appropriate initiatives
    • Coach managers and leaders through change management, performance management, and other sensitive HR matters.
    • Respond to question and inquiries for information, point to appropriate self-service systems and tools
  • Deploy development programs
    • Advise managers and employees on learning and OD opportunities, training & development plans, and succession planning
    • Coach leaders on career development tools and processes and assist with employee career counseling and feedback sessions as needed
  • Support employee and community engagement
    • Promote and foster a healthy work environment; implement, interpret and help drive departmental action plans as a result of engagement surveys
    • Assist with preparing and coordinating holiday and company events
  • Implement business performance and compliance initiatives
    • Partner with managers and leaders to uphold all HR compliance standards
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state and local government statutory laws
    • Work with parent company (HCA) HR Centers of Excellence(COEs)/HR Service Centers when appropriate
  • Ensure HR operational excellence
    • Work with VP of HR and all HR COEs to provide feedback on strategies and programs to more effectively meet the needs of the businesses
    • Collaborate with managers on performance & compensation planning
    • Provide local support for Total Rewards COE with benefits enrollment
    • Work with managers and leaders on workforce planning, including position control/review; aligning with budget, resourcing process, etc. 
    • Review local job descriptions and compensation matters with VP HR, and Recruiting and Compensation COEs
    • Assist with building the team via interview and selection process
    • Create and support effective leader and employee communications
    • Support utilization of the HR support model; guide employees to the appropriate channel and ensure proper utilization and follow through
  • Adept at managing sensitive, confidential matters, employee relations, organizational changes, and protecting the security of HR information and files
  • Other duties as assigned in collaboration with VP of HR

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in human resources or related field
  • A minimum of 5 years of increasing responsibility as a HR BP plus 3 years as an HR Manager
  • Excellent written communications, interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Proven history of sound judgment and experience with HR matters
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Desire to advance career within Human Resource Management
  • Demonstrated success with continuous process improvement
  • Ability to manage time, meet deadlines, prioritize competing requests and impeccable follow-through skills
  • Must possess a service-oriented mindset
  • Able to work effectively under pressure
  • Strong analytical and deductive reasoning skills
  • High degree of professional decorum, discretion for confidential information
  • Experience utilizing the entire suite of MS Office, Applicant Tracking (i.e. Taleo), and HRIS applications (experience with Lawson a plus)
  • PHR certification a plus
