Job Summary and Qualifications

Genospace is looking for a talented team player who wants to solve novel problems and help us build and deliver our software platform. As the leading provider of information technology services in molecular medicine, our software is used today by clinicians and researchers across the country and around the globe to improve patient care.

At Genospace, our mission is to be the leading information platform for applied precision medicine. Our interdisciplinary team is merging the tools and techniques of genomics, healthcare, data analytics, web development, and cloud computing. We serve research, clinical development, pathology, and clinical care customers who work with high-dimensional genomic and other biomedical data. Many of the most advanced precision medicine organizations are powered by Genospace. 

Your Impact: 

Your work as the Staff Software Architect at Genospace will impact individuals and organizations across the healthcare landscape: patients searching for the best treatment options, researchers seeking to make advances based on a sea of high-dimensional data, physicians deploying personalized medicine in everyday practice, and laboratories conducting some of the most advanced analyses in the world. 

What You’ll Do: 

  • Be the Technical owner and architect for our product portfolio. Drive technology roadmaps, architectural rigor, design maturity, and reliable engineering outcomes. 
  • Be an active member of an innovative and high-energy Engineering team. Design, develop, test, release, and support features in our web-based, cloud-hosted applications. 
  • Mentor and Coach other engineering colleagues through code and software design reviews, driving standards and reuse across teams. 
  • Partner with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to help shape and implement enhancements to our engineering process, products, and technology platform. 
  • POC and concept development to enable and influence technology prove out and continuous improvement. 

Some of the things we’re looking for: 

  • A clear thinker that is willing to learn new domains as needed and able to see the big picture. 
  • Prior experience as an architect building scalable, performant, and data-intensive web applications. 
  • Comfort with cloud-native technologies and proven knowledge in the areas of scalability, performance management and service-oriented architecture concepts. 
  • Full stack technology knowledge using one of the contemporary frameworks and readiness to learn new concepts. 
  • A demonstrable ability to design software to meet functional and technical requirements and to communicate your designs effectively. 
  • An interest in making an impact on healthcare and clinical research through technology. 
  • Ability to consider problems creatively and critically while collaborating with product owners, data scientists, and designers in order to come up with solutions. 
  • Strong commitment to teamwork and a humble attitude. 

Additional qualifications that are helpful but not required: 

  • 8+ years of professional experience in software development with most recent experience as an architect for a technology function.
  • Familiarity with the various technologies: o Front End – Vue.js or similar o Back End – Grails, Java, Elasticsearch o Data Tier – SQL and NoSQL database technologies
  • AI stack on Azure
